$18 Million Dollar Work Now Ongoing On Bog Walk Gorge Road
The Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw reported that repair work began on the road that passes through the Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine.
The work which started last weekend should last for six weeks. After the island experienced weeks of heavy rains the roads were left in a deplorable condition. Mr. Shaw revealed that the work will be mainly done in the area between the Bog Walk roundabout and Dam Head.
Motorists are being asked to exercise caution and obey signs and the instructions given by flagmen. Heavy duty equipment will be used and only a single lane will be used in some sections sometimes.
Asphaltic concrete will be used to fill potholes and do paving, rotted surfaces will be removed. The work will cost a total of $18 million.
