A security guard shot and injured a 50-year-old man after he allegedly tried to stage a barefaced daylight robbery at a financial institution on Monday in Westmoreland.
Reports stated that about 11.05 am, the alleged robber who police revealed was from the Frome section of the parish, walked into a business place on Great Georges Street.
It was reported that he held up and stole approximately $400,000 from a teller there and tried to get away when he was shot and injured by the guard.
He was later given to the police officers and the money taken from him.
The Savanna-la-Mar police are investigating the incident.
