72yo Man Killed While Trying to Get Back Stolen Money in St. Thomas
A 72-year-old man by the name of Raphael Smith has been pronounced dead, after being brought to the hospital for injuries he received after a tussle that broke out between himself and a man who he accused of stealing money from him.
The incident took place in the Newlands area in Golden Grove, St. Thomas at about 5:45 pm on Friday where it was said that the elderly man who was also a fisherman attacked the accused thief who was also a relative.
It was after the attack launched by Smith otherwise known as “Daddy”, that it was reported that the relative utilised a stone, to hit and damage the now-deceased man in his head.
The elderly man was then found laying non – responsive on the ground where he was rushed to be treated at the hospital, but could not be saved.
The relative who was accused of stealing the money, and killing Smith was also brought in and admitted for treatment at the hospital, while the St. Thomas police investigate the matter.
