8 People Killed in Clarendon Shooting on Sunday
As per reports, a total of eight(8) individuals have been confirmed dead following an attack in Clarendon on Sunday. Several people have been left injured.
The incident took place on Cherry Tree Lane, Four Paths of the parish. Armed men invaded the location Sunday evening and started firing shots indiscriminately, per reports.
Minister of National Security Dr Horace Chang has since confirmed and gave a statement on the mass shooting which is rare in Jamaica.
As per the minister, the attack was seemingly a reprisal for a shooting that took place years ago.
Apart from Minister Dr. Chang’s statement, ”I urge the police to utilise every available resource and power to apprehend the perpetrators swiftly.”
He went on to express sadness and regret before sending condolences to the families affected. As per the minister, crime in the parish has been down this year by 39% when compared to 2023.
