80YO Murdered, House Set Ablaze in St. Ann

As per reports, 80-year-old Sylvia Barrett, known as a farmer and vendor was brutally murdered, and her house set on fire in the Spring Garden community in Bamboo, S.t Ann. The grim discovery was made Wednesday evening after a relative of the deceased noticed flames emanating from Barrett’s house.
The fire department was alerted. With the help of neighbours, they managed to quell the inferno, which originated in the living room of Barrett’s four-bedroom concrete residence.
During cooling-down operations, Barrett’s lifeless body was found in the dining room. Shockingly, her hands and feet were bound with electrical wires and pieces of clothing, indicating a heinous act of violence.
As reported by Loop News, the St. Ann Police Division, led by Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, is currently spearheading investigations into the murder. Notably, no suspect(s) have been apprehended thus far.
Powell has issued a plea to the public, urging anyone with information regarding the murder and suspected arson to come forward and assist the authorities in their pursuit of justice. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted to ascertain the precise cause of Barrett’s death.
