Accords to reports a 87 year old shop-keeper from Trelawny was taken into custody by the police after concerned neighbours called the police moments after seeing a 14 year old entered the shopkeeper’s house.
The police went to the house and sighted foul play, Superintendent Kirk Ricketts, head of the Trelawny police, told THE STAR that the suspect was taken into custody after being interviewed.
The 87 year old man was charged with grievous sexual assault.
“He was offered bail, but nobody was willing to bail him. If he is not bailed tonight, we will take him to court tomorrow for a judge to make a ruling. The matter is receiving very serious attention,” Ricketts told THE STAR.
