Shaggy managed to raise $100 million as targeted
International dancehall artiste Shaggy has met his $100 million target for the Bustamante Children’s Hospital.
On Thursday evening Shaggy revealed the cheque of $100 million at a press release, after combining the figures from the ticket sales of the live charity concert Shaggy and Friends, Food For The Poor donations of $2.7 million, Official Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation WATA sales of $7.2 million, Textline donations of $130,000 and T-Shirt sales of $164,000.
Since the first staging in 2009, Shaggy through his Make a Difference Foundation, has donated and repaired more than 450 pieces of equipment worth over US$1.6 million to the Bustamante Hospital for Children.
With $100 million being the largest sum raised, the funds will be going towards the Children Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the hospital, the only one of its kind in the English Speaking Caribbean.
