Lawyer believes Text Message in Vybz Kartel’s phone was doctored By the Police
Lawyers who are representing the dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel are now saying that a text message that was used to convict their client was doctored by the police. On Tuesday the defense spoke about the Blackberry phone was used to make calls after it was taken away from Kartel; so it is clear that the phone was not properly secured by the police. The message they are concerned about is the one in which it was stated the victim was chopped up fine, fine and no one would be able to find him.
The attorney is now saying there is a software that could be used to add messages and change dates on cell phones. The anti-forensic technique that the attorney is referring to, can be seen as tampering when it used.
The judges are now deliberating on the case after the appeal was completed in the Court in Kingston recently, and they have not reached a verdict as yet.
