LGBTQ History to Be Taught in Schools in Illinois

History will be taught in Illinois public schools in a different way, since Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker passed a law that guarantees that contribution and history of LGBTQ people will be taught in the state’s public schools.

Equality Illinois, the state’s LGBTQ civil rights advocacy organisation has noted that the bill will cause students to be more accepting of those from the LGBTQ community, and it will have a positive effect on the students who are now being teased.

The contribution of all people protected under the Illinois Human Rights Act should be included and all textbooks that are authorized to be sold must include the contribution and roles of the people protected under the act.

A safer environment for students who belong to the LGBTQ community might be created.
In July 2020 the Bill will be in effect.

The initialism LGBTTQQIAAP (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, ally, pansexual) has also resulted, although such initialisms are sometimes criticized for being confusing and leaving some people out.

While this is not possible for the foreseeable future in Jamaica, one must wonder if this will be here on our soil down the line in our quest to a so-called “Better Country”, following the footsteps of USA, CANADA and UK..
