5 Women now Charged for the Brutal beating of Kaylan Dowdie

As reported by the Jamaica Gleaner, 5 females who were allegedly involved in the brutal beating of 17-year-old Kaylan Dowdie at an illegal party kept in Barbican on November 7th is now in police custody.

Initially, three females turned themselves in after a wanted list of six people’s names was published by the police, one of the three persons who turned up with her attorney however was sent home and allegedly regarded as a case of miss identity.

Lately, the outstanding three females turned themselves into the police making it a total of five individuals who are now in lock-up on wounding with intent and unlawful wounding charges.

The ages of the accused females range from 26 to 45 years old, all of whom are several years older than the teen with one person being twice as old as Kaylan.

26-year-old sales representative Crysian Lewis, 22-year-old waitress Timone Williams, 28-year-old call centre representative Shakema McLeod, 45-year-old labourer, Yoland Vassel, 33-year-old Nadine Aldridge. She is unemployed.

The females are set to appear in court on December 2nd to answer to the charges laid against them.

It will be determined if bail will be granted for any of the females on November 2nd.

Despite a video popping up recently with Kaylan showing positive signs of improvement, the teenager’s mother has since been online to outline that Kaylan is not out of the woods as yet and that we should continue to pray for her recovery.

On the other hand, there have been reports of scammers targeting Kaylan supporters via fake go-fund-me pages.
