Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Divorce Confirmed!
The rap superstar and the reality tv power couple are parting ways according to TMZ, theguardian.com and several news outlets.
Their marriage lasted for 7 years, but sources revealed that Kim Kardashian filed for divorce in Los Angeles last Friday.
The reality tv star is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the 4 children at age 40.
It has been weeks since rumours were being spread that Kim had retained the well-known divorce lawyer Laura Wasser from Hollywood.
Kim spoke out about Kanye’s bipolar disorder after he had lost his mother and he posted a number of erratic, rambling tweets on social media.
The demise of the marriage came just after it was revealed that the reality show that had caused Kim Kardashian to be famous, will be ending after 14 seasons.
West had appeared in it sometimes but 2021 is the final year for that show and Kim along with her family had signed a new lucrative deal for new content with Disney. It will debut late 2021 on Hulu.
Divorce rumours started after Kanye had posted explosive, confusing tweets in July 2020. He explained that he wanted to get divorced since Kim met with Meek Mill. Kim had attended a criminal justice summit in 2018 with Mill before he made the statement.
However, Kanye had deleted the tweets after a while and apologized for what he had said.
Kim had started to get more involved with criminal justice advocacy after Kanye became more polarized as a public figure. Kardashian even plan to take an exam after she finishes a course in law.
If they get divorced, this will be her third one and the first for West.
They became more wealthy during the marriage, but they had a prenuptial agreement.
