Derek Chauvin’s Wife Divorce Settlement Revealed – Video Report
According to a report done by inside edition, Derek Chauvin’s wife who is 46 years old got over US $700,000 in a settlement that saw the cop who is currently before the court getting over $400k. Derek’s wife filed for divorce just days after he became the main suspect in George Floyd’s killing.
Derek Chauvin and his ex-wife, Kellie Chauvin were married for 10 years. The former Minneapolis police officer earlier pleaded not guilty to third-degree murder, second-degree unintentional murder, and second-degree manslaughter charges.
It’s believed by many people that Chauvin’s former wife divorced the former cop because she wanted to safeguard the family’s assets after Georges family filed a civil lawsuit against Derek.
According to Kellie, she was “devastated” after learning about the murder that her husband had committed, she also sent condolences to the family of Mr Floyd.
One person asked, “How tf does a cop, not even a sergeant, even have hundreds and thousands of dollars to settle in a divorce though?” while another said “Yes, she divorced him to save her assets. And I don’t blame her. Why should she suffer the consequences of her husband’s actions.”
