Fantan Mojah To Appear In Court On May 18

Veteran Reggae Dancehall artiste, Fantan Mojah has recently been charged with breaching the Disaster Risk Management Act and will need to appear in court on May 18 to answer to the judge.

The entertainer who is properly known as Owen Moncrieffe ran into troubles with the law last Saturday, while the half-day curfew was in operation.

According to Fantan, the situation happened because he was doing some work at a studio and the time ran out, so he decided to go home.

It was at that point according to the “Fyah King”, that the police, pulled him over on Red Hills Road to book him.

The veteran Jamaican artiste is claiming, however, that he is very loyal to his country to the point that, he does everything that is asked of him to do.

Mojah is claiming that they should have shown him some leniency, especially since he was leaving work.

He is not, however, running from the fact that he has a court date and seems to be ready to face the judge. He took to Instagram a few days ago point out that the “political leaders” are no good.

Fantan Mojah is not the only, artiste who has been booked for breaching the Disaster risk management act, as just last year Beenie Man was charged for the same thing, and will need to go to court soon.

A violation of the moderately new law, according to the government, will result in either a 1 million dollar fine or 12 months imprisonment.
