Reggae Girlz to Play 2 Int’l Friendlies in the USA
Two international friendlies will be played by Jamaica’s senior women’s national football team as they prepare for the 2021 WNT Summer Series that is presented by AT&T 5G. Four teams will be featured in this series.
The Reggae Girlz will play against Nigeria on June 10, On June 13 they will tackle the United States team, they are the champions and the host. Both games will be played in Houston, Texas. Portugal will also be one of the teams that will participate in the series.
This is the first time the Jamaican team will be playing, after they participated in February 2020 in the Concacaf Olympic qualifiers.
The Reggae Girlz Coach stated that she is very pleased to be a part of the series of games, she is currently heping the team to prepare for the World Cup Qualifiers that will begin in November.
The Jamaican team and staff will be placed in a highly controlled environment at a hotel and they will be guided by the Concacaf Return to Play Protocols.
There will be regular Covid-19 testing and training will begin after test results are confirmed.
The USA and Nigeria will play 3 matches, but Nigeria and Jamaica will only be playing two.
