Trinidad Dancehall Artiste Chucky Blanco Shot And Killed by Police

The life of young “Trinibad” Dancehall artiste, Chucky Blanco was sadly taken on Saturday after it was reported by the Trinidad Express newspaper that the entertainer was shot during a confrontation with the Police.
18-year-old Blanco whose real name is Jaheim Joseph was reported to be a part of a group of men who were on Mango Alley, when some Police attached to the Inter-Agency Taskforce, was running an operation in the area.
According to the reports, upon moving towards the men, the officers said that a gun was pointed at them which sparked a gun battle causing Blanco to be shot.
He was pronounced dead at the Port of Spain hospital after being rushed there for treatment.
The Policemen who were involved in the gun battle told the Trinidad Express that two firearms were found at the area the shooting took place.
Residents of Mango Alley, Laventille are said to have begun a protest in the area because of the killing where they proceeded angrily to block the roads with debris and burned tires.
Even though being still young in the business, Chucky Blanco is well known for songs such as ‘Murder’, ‘Nah Play’ and ‘KRR’ which gained him his respect on the Trinibad scene of Dancehall music.
Several “Trinibad” artistes such as Rebel Sixx, K-Lion, and Bradbadlikethat have all passed away due to the gruesome gang violence that has stamped its foot in the country and each time such a tragedy happens it touches people deeply since the new generation of Trinidad and Tobago entertainers doing dancehall music are loved very much in their country, having many loyal supporters.
Days earlier, rising Jamaican dancehall artiste Kashmar was also shot and killed in Jamaica.
