“One Don” Klansman Trial POSTPONED after 2 Positive COVID-19 Cases

The much talked about ongoing trial concerning the “One Don” faction of the Klansman gang has been postponed for two weeks after two defendants’ results returned positive for COVID-19.

This marks the third time the trial has been put on pause since it started. The next court date is rescheduled to October 19th.

The accused men that should have been in court but were absent were Owen Ormsby and Andre Golding, whose situation was explained to chief Justice Sykes.

Judge Sykes was told that the men had to be tested after the virus was detected in the same area where the men were being remanded.

The results returned positive for both men causing a pause to the proceedings.

The trial which started two weeks ago is labelled as one of the biggest in Jamaica’s history and his expected to run into 2022, costing the island at least 50 million dollars.

Reputed One Don Gang leader Andre Bryan of the Klansman gang and 32 other alleged gang members are being tried on an indictment with 25 counts under the Criminal Justice (Suppression of Criminal Organizations) Act and the Firearms Act, to which they have pleaded not guilty
