DJ Khaled Purchases New “Bob Marley” Guitar… But He Can’t Play It… See Video
Hearing the “Wild Thoughts” song by Rihanna in 2017, might have led persons to think that Multi-Platinum award winner, DJ Khaled was the person playing the immaculate guitar that was heard throughout the masterpiece however, based on a video of the producer that went viral this week, it shows that he definitely was not the person pulling the strings.
The viral video with Khaled showed him posing with his new Guild A-20 Marley guitar, which was modelled off the singer’s Madeira A-20 that he used at his home on 56 Hope Road.
In the footage, the popular international producer showed the guitar case which according to the maker of the special guitar, Guild, who collaborated on the guitar with the Marley family is made out of Nylon and comes with a wide variety of custom-built guitar picks.
Khalid then went on to show his fans a note that came with the guitar for him from the Marley family, which he handed to his personal chef Melissa Zuniga, to read which stated “DJ Khaled we are excited to share this new guitar with you as someone who has an appreciation for Bob Marley’s life and music”.
The note went on to state ” We want you to be one of the first to play the Guild A-20 Marley, based on Bob’s at home songwriting guitar from 56 Hope road. This guitar inspired songs that helped to unite the world and we hope it gives you inspiration as well” the note ended.
At the end of the video DJ Khaled proceeded to give his new toy a go for it but on strumming the guitar, it was obvious that the famous producer did not know how to play it.
The footage did cause a lot of fan laughter with many outrageous posts on Social media being made that included persons creating memes about the awful guitar playing, of someone like Khaled who has already climbed to the heights of musical achievement.
One Twitter user who posted the video on their page captioned it by saying “I truly believe DJ Khaled can’t read, play, guitar and has no idea which way land is”.
The new guitar was launched earlier this month and the Collaboration between Guild and the Marley family has also brought forward a green plan, which sees has their promise to replant a tree each time a new Marley guitar is crafted.
According to Guitar.com, son of the Reggae legend Bob Marley, is very excited about the partnership and Guild Ceo Tim Miklaucic also celebrates the move describing it as an opportunity to help a new generation of music lovers.
The partnership between the Marley family and Guild also has taken into consideration education in their efforts as the collaboration has led to the Alpha School of music in Kingston, benefitting from guitar contributions to their program.
Will the new guitar impact DJ Khaled’s music positively with him even learning how to play like a professional, or will he just keep the instrument as a souvenir? We will just have to wait and see how that turns out.
