JLP Politician Suspended After Allegedly Pulling Gun On Common-Law Wife
Another JLP Politician is in hot water again, and this time it is the councillor for Montego Bay South East division, Arthur Lynch who was charged after allegedly pulling a gun on his common-law wife while the two were arguing.
According to the reports from the Corporate Constabulary Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the Politician was slapped with charges of assault against his common-law wife and illegal possession of a firearm.
The incident was said to have unfolded on Tuesday in the afternoon when Lynch was said to have visited their family home which he left due to troubles he and his wife have been having for some time.
Upon going to the house to retrieve some items, the Star who initially brought the story said the Politician was confronted by his partner with whom he has been struggling, which developed into an argument leading Lynch to pull the firearm.
The Police received a report of the incident and subsequently charged the councillor, who is also undergoing an investigation by the Jamaica Labour Party who has released information stating that the findings from the probing will be turned over to the central executive of the Party.
It was also announced by the secretariat of the JLP that Arthur Lynch has been suspended with “immediate effect” from his role as councillor, for the South East Division (Rose Heights) of St. James.
This news is indeed a shocking one for the public since just a few months ago the now-independent member of Parliament George Wright, was in trouble with the police and the Political party due to allegations pointing him out as the man that was in a video assaulting a woman said to be his common-law wife.
