Eklypse Making “MOVES” in Dancehall

YARDHYPE recently had a question and answer session with the upcoming dancehall artiste “Eklypse” who hails from Kingston. Currently, Eklypse is working diligently to take a place in the dancehall space. Learn about who he is and what his music is about below.

  • Where Are You From? “Nanny ville.”
  • How long have you been doing Music and what inspired you to start I doing music? “i have been doing music over 10 years now, the first time i heard erup i decided to give it a try.”
  •  What is your style of music? I sing j
  • What’s the favourite verse you wrote? “Its the first verse in my new single, called moves.”
  •  Favourite dancehall Artiste? “Mavado.”
  •  Favourite Reggae Artiste? “Half Point”
  •  Which musician has been most influential in your musical career? “Ding dong reason being he gave me that first opportunity.”
  •  What’s next? (Any new Project, Music video/single)? “I got a track callled chaps coming.”
  •  What Keeps You grounded? (Things you do to relax/chill) “To keep my self grounded i just reflect on where im coming from, i listen music to relax.”
  • What do you love the most about Jamaica? Our culture the way we do things its very different, Tell Us About Your Music Team(manager/producer). “Well we got a small an affective team. We produce most of our music.”
  •  Where Do You See Your Self 3 years from now? “To be honest its hard to say, years ago i answer that question den i found my self playing football for Arnett garden, i rather let God lead me dan lead my self.”
  •  How do you usually come about your lyrics, write/freestyle? “I freestyle.”
  • What Are Your Views On The Current state of Dancehall And Reggae music? “Its ok to  me music changes an evolve.”

Eklypse recently released the music video for his track titled “Moves”. It’s a song about the progressive changes in his life, his lifestyle and how connected he is in the streets. In “Moves” Eklypse also highlights the fact that some of his friends change on him since he starts to progress and make the big moves.
