Shenseea and Rvssian Reunite on Vibrant Offering “You’re the One I Love”
Jamaican dancehall singer Shenseea and producer Rvssian have reunited once again on a vibrant new track titled “You’re the One I Love.”
As on previous collaborations, Rvssian comes through on the production. The track features a crisp, uplifting beat that evokes a chilled-out afternoon watching the sun set over a Jamaican beach.
Shenseea doesn’t disappoint on “You’re the One I Love,” either. She takes a laid-back approach to the track with her rhythmic dancehall vocals, singing melodically about her love for an unnamed individual.
The song’s accompanying music video kicks off with a visual of Shenseea floating in a pool of colorful flowers as she begins to sing, before briefly cutting to a shot of Rvssian playing the piano.
Throughout the remaining two minutes or so, the video alternates between shots of Shenseea singing in the pool of flowers, playing in the waves and lying in the sand on a beach, laying in a meadow at night, and dancing with two backup dancers on a small stage.
The video for “You’re the One I Love” concludes with a visual of the dancehall singer romantically embracing her presumed lover as the screen fades to black.
All in all, with the song’s smooth production and SFX and the video’s dreamy, joyful settings, “You’re the One I Love” has all the makings of a summer love anthem.
Previous Collaborations Between Shenseea and Rvssian To Check Out
“You’re the One I Love” isn’t the first time Shenseea and Rvssian have linked up. If you like the new track, revisit some of their previous collaborations below.
“IDKW”
“IDKW,” or “I Don’t Know Why,” is a collaboration between Rvssian, Shenseea, and American rap artists Swae Lee and Young Thug. The dancehall-infused beat is fitting for the rappers’ crooning vocals, and Shenseea is right at home, of course.
“Lighter”
Jamaican-American singer Tarrus Riley enlists the help of Rvssian and Shenseea on his track “Lighter.” The two singers alternate back and forth on the track, swapping lyrics about love in the verses and joining together in unison for the song’s uplifting chorus.
“Hard Drive”
Shenseea links up with dancehall recording artist Konshens on this Rvssian-produced dancehall track to really get the party started. The music video for the song features the two artists and their backup dancers in Mad-max inspired costumes, dancing in front of and on top of an assortment of post-apocalypse-chic vehicles.
“King Kosa”
“King Kosa” is another collaboration between Shenseea, Konshens, and Rvssian. It has more laid-back vibes than the former one and the video features shots of everyday life in an unnamed Jamaican neighborhood.
“Position”
“Position” is a Shenseea and Rvssian track off of the 2018 compilation album Bashment Time Riddim. The song is much more reggae than dancehall. In fact, the Bashment Time “album” is really just one long reggae beat, which various Jamaican artists (including Konshens and Tarrus Riley) take their turns vibing over.
