Chris Rock Wants Big-Money Before He Speaks
After weeks of not addressing the slap that comedian Chris Rock received from actor, Will Smith at the Oscars, it is finally concluded why he has maintained his silence.
Chris Rock wants to capitalize on the matter and wishes to get paid before he discloses any information.
Recently, TMZ reported that at one of his shows on Friday, April 8, the comedian mentioned that until he gets paid, he will not be speaking on the matter.
“I’m OK, I have a whole show, and I’m not talking about that until I get paid. Life is good. I got my hearing back,” said Chris Rock.
Just before this statement, while performing at the Boston’s Wilbur Theatre, he briefly addressed the issue by stating to the crowd that “I’m still processing what happened, so at some point, I’ll talk about that shit”.
Since this controversial topic has been circulating in the media, Chris Rock has managed to benefit drastically as tickets to his shows have been sold at 10 times the amount as well as being completely booked out. This arose from the anticipation of hearing the comedian address the matter.
During the 94th Academy Award ceremony on March 27, actor Will Smith slapped Chris Rock because of a joke he made comparing his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith to a bald movie character named ‘G.I. Jane 2’.
Pinkett-Smith is reportedly suffering from a hair condition called alopecia.
As a result of Smith’s actions, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors has banned Will Smith from the Oscars for 10 years.
