Man Gunned Down In Drive-By At Birthday Party In St. James
A man was shot to death In the middle of a birthday party he attended in a section of Rose Heights, St James on Wednesday night. The 22-year-old man, who was identified as Gevanny Brown, was gunned down in Village Top during a drive-by.
The police have reported that Brown was attending a birthday party and, according to Observer Online, he was standing with a group of individuals at the time of the incident. At around 10:45 pm, Brown was reportedly approached by persons travelling in a black Toyota Corolla motorcar and the occupants of the vehicle brandished their weapons, opening fire at him.
Brown was reportedly shot “all over the body” and he was found lying in a pool of blood by the responding police officers who received the alert.
After being transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, Brown was pronounced dead.
It is being alleged that his death is in connection to a gang. Brown, who is from Amity, Cambridge in St James, was alleged to be affiliated with the “Prekeh” gang which operates in Cambridge.
However, the police have not disclosed this allegation being a possible theory.
