The annual summertime bash in Negril, which ran for 4 days, was graced with performances from Dancehall Queen Spice, Ding Dong, Sizzla, Govana, Marksman, IQ and Rytikal. One of the anticipated performers who was announced to take the stage was the Protocol artiste, who pulled out of the event due to a “medical diagnosis of exhaustion and dehydration during his visit to Trinidad and Tobago”.

The announcement of his condition came hours ago on Dream Weekend’s Instagram page with an apology to the patrons who came out to see the entertainer. The announcement that was written by Skeng’s management informed that Skeng has had a hectic travelling schedule from which his body now needs rest.

“Skengs management has been in constant dialogue with the super event organisers and it has been mutually agreed that the young stars health is priority,” the announcement stated.

It continued by issuing an apology to “all the patrons and fans for the stars absence” and sent gratitude to the “Dream camp for their understanding and support”.

While scores of fans have been showing support since the announcement, there are several persons who are alleging that Skeng’s health condition had little to do with his tour and more to do with his alleged consumption of Molly.

The allegations stem from the fact that Skeng, born Kevon Douglas, has several songs glorifying the drug. Skeng has been the centre of the Molly controversy for months, with many individuals accusing the artiste of consuming the drug due to his electrifying performances. Despite the allegations and backlash the artiste has received, Skeng has never addressed the matter.
