Apple Filed “Dynamic Island” Trademark In Jamaica Due To Being Unsearchable Online

Apple, a multinational technology company filed the trademark for its “Dynamic Island” innovation for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro in Jamaica. This was done due to the country’s privacy laws which make applications filed unsearchable online as persons would have to go physically to the country’s office location.

On July 12, the trademark was filed in Jamaica and was only made public when Apple also filed it in New Zealand where it could be found online. The company did this to keep its development secret from competitors.

“Dynamic Island” is an adaptive area that can expand, contract and morph into different shapes and sizes as it delivers information to the end user through animations and transitions. It takes advantage of the black space required by the notch, rather than trying to hide it.
