Jamaica Tallawahs Defeats Barbados Royals To Win 3rd CPL Title – Watch Match Highlights Video
The Jamaica Tallawahs won their third Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title with an eighth-wicket victory over Barbados Royals in the finals at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Friday.
Brandon King, the opening batsman for the Jamaican team smashed 83 not out after the winning six down the ground off the Royals left-arm pacer, Obed McCoy. This victory sent his fellow team members running onto the field in celebration. As a result, King is now considered to be the highest run-scorer this season.
More so, Fabian Allen was awarded the player of the match title after he curbed the Royals to 161-7 after taking 3-24. His rivals started off strong, however, Rahkeem Cornwall faltered to Allen for 36 to leave them already 63-1 at the end of the powerplay.
The final score of the match is Jamaica Tallawahs 162-2 (16.1 overs), while the Barbados Royals ended with 161-7 (20 overs).
This win for the Jamaican team is the third CPL victory, however, their first since 2016.
