The eldest child of dancehall entertainer Mavado, Daniela Brooks, more popularly known as Skye Diamond, showed appreciation for her father in celebration of his 42nd birthday. On Instagram, a loving photo was posted of the two with a caption that reads, “Happy birthday to my daddy 🫶🏾❤️ THE GOAT 🐐🔥🎉🥹😘.”
Mavado, whose real name is David Brooks, was born on November 30, 1982, and is a father to five kids. His daughter, Skye Diamond, 21, has taken a similar path by venturing into the entertainment sector and becoming an artiste. She is known for songs such as, “Life Story”, “Dem Nuh Real”, “Gun Down” and “Best Life” among many others.
Known to the media as a family man, the Jamaican deejay occasionally showcases the close bond he shares with his loved ones. In recent times, a photo surfaced of him celebrating his younger daughter, Daisy’s birthday, along with his wife Monique McKenzie, and his son Vuitton in the US.
Adding to the birthday greetings was veteran dancehall artiste, Bounty Killer, Mavado’s rival, former mentor, and Alliance leader. In a post shared to his Instagram page, he wrote “One for the books blessed earth strong Mr Brooks 💫🎂🥂🍾,” alongside a photo of the artiste.
Though the two had a years-long ongoing feud, when the “Gully God’s” mother, Elizabeth ‘Ms. Pinny’ Gordon, died in 2021 at a Hospital in Kingston, Killer placed all differences aside and offered condolences to his former protégé. Similarly, in that same year, he made a heartfelt plea for prayers on Instagram for Dantay Brooks, the entertainer’s son who was given a life sentence for murder.
