Dancehall artiste Govana has shared a tribute to Aidonia’s son, King Khalif Lawrence, who passed away earlier this month. Govana, born Romeo Nelson, is well known to be a close friend of Aidonia, who, along with his wife Kimberly Lawrence, has been grieving their son away from social media.
Govana made the tribute to Khalif on his Instagram page, sharing a memorable moment he had with him. The tribute was made hours ago and bore the words “Khalibud #foreverandever” in the caption.
“Badman ting a nuh talking ting,” sings Khalif in the short video, these are lyrics of the song entitled “Trigger Work It” by his father Aidonia, released in 2016.
A happy Khalif can be seen lying on the floor and singing with Govana while Aidonia seems to be videoing them and requesting songs. The black-and-white video, which has over 36,959 likes, was welcomed by viewers, who expressed their sadness and condolences in the comments.
Khalif, who passed away on December 3 at the age of nine, was diagnosed with cancer in August 2019. He fought the disease for three years and died in the arms of his parents. According to a statement made public by Aidonia’s management, the family was “grief stricken” and needed privacy and solitude during this heartbreaking time.
