Prosecutors Say Tory Lanez Injured Megan Over Insult, Defense Claims Another Committed The Act
Opening arguments detailing the incident involving Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion have now been heard in court. The events surrounding the night Meg was reportedly wounded in the foot by Tory are being described by both parties.
Investigators began proceedings on Monday, asserting that Tory fired five shots at Megan, hitting her in both feet, implying that he was allegedly provoked after Megan condescendingly referred to him as a “beautiful artist.”
In the current trial, several messages were sent by Tory admitting to being excessively intoxicated and being apologetic towards the matter, which may have possible ramifications for the Canadian-born entertainer.
Megan, Tory, and Kelsey are reported to have been escorted from Kylie Jenner’s pool party, by an individual by the name of Jauquan Smith, who according to the prosecution was armed with a 9 mm handgun.
Prosecutors claim that after Megan’s alleged insult, Jauquan stopped the truck, and Megan and Kelsey exited the vehicle, whereafter Tory presumably fired the gun at Megan telling her to “dance bitch”.
According to Tory’s team, the pair were at Kylie’s residence for a pool party when they encountered an unexpected problem, and Meg was told to leave. In their attempts, the defence tried to convince the jury that Tory was not the instigator.
His defence lawyer, George Mgdesyan, told the jury that there was an argument induced by jealousy between Meg and Kelsey. He asserted that Tory and Megan had a sexual relationship, which Megan dismissed in discussions, but also that Kelsey was upset because Meg had a background of stealing her partners.
Finally, Mgdesyan made the point that Megan was not facing the attacker, so she couldn’t have known who hit her.
