Kelsey Harris Says Megan Thee Stallion was “Drunk” and That Tory Lanez Offered Her $1 Million
Kelsey Nicole Harris took the stand on the third day of Tory Lanez’s shooting trial with a lot of her memory being “blurry” and a request for immunity. LA Times reporter James Queally stated that Megan Thee Stallion’s former friend, Kelsey, appeared in court on December 14 with an attorney and requested immunity. With immunity, Kelsey is granted an exemption from liability, and her testimony cannot be used against her, eliminating the possibility of self-incrimination.
Queally reported that the District Attorney asserted they had no intention of bringing charges against her and granted her immunity. According to reports, Kelsey testified for under 40 minutes, claiming that drinking had left her memory “blurry.” Queally further reported that Kelsey said that Megan Thee Stallion was intoxicated and acting out at a party before the shooting. She also labelled the accusations about her shooting Megan Thee Stallion as “ridiculous” and added that Megan had told lies about her.
According to additional information shared by No Jumper on Twitter, the prosecutor played audio from September of Kelsey telling the prosecution that Tory had threatened to shoot her. However, she responded to the audio by saying, “Everything I said in September wasn’t truthful.” Reports also say that she invoked the Fifth Amendment when DDA Kathy Ta asked if Tory threatened to shoot her.
Responding to another audio of her saying that Tory had called both Megan and her “bitches” and “hoes,” Kelsey claimed that she did not remember because “that night was blurry.” When asked if Tory tried to bribe her during the case, Kelsey allegedly told the court that it was not only her. In her testimony, she continued to say that Tory had offered her a million dollars, but he did not mention the shooting when he made the offer.
In another audio, Kelsey had also told the prosecution that Tory had offered to fund any business ventures of hers and asked if she wanted him to get her a lawyer, to which she questioned the reason for needing one. She also said she only “heard shots” but did not see the shooting. When the prosecutor asked her if she recalled telling them in September that she saw Tory shoot Megan, Kelsey said she had said “a lot that wasn’t true” to protect herself from self-incrimination.
When the prosecution subsequently asked why Kelsey texted Megan’s security guard, Justin, that Tory shot Megan, Kelsey said she “was in a panic.” Reportedly, Kelsey testified that she was not aware that Megan was injured until she visited her at the hospital, and it was disclosed to her that “Megan had stepped on glass.” Following the incident, Kelsey said she met with Tory at a hotel, where he apologized, but he did not say why he apologized.
The prosecution also mentioned that there was “a lot of blood in the SUV” and asked Kelsey who was bleeding, but she claimed that she did not remember anyone bleeding and added, “I don’t know that night was a blur.” The prosecutor attempted to add Kelsey’s Instagram posts into evidence, but Tory’s defence attorneys objected and said the IG posts were never approved or submitted to them. As a result, the case was adjourned.
