The performances displayed were highly charged and the screams from the fans just kept increasing in pitch. Some of the songs performed were Destiny, Putting Up Resistance, Step Aside Now, Untold Stories and God Is Love, performed with dancehall DJ Popcaan.
Some other artistes that performed at the event labelled as a “historic coming together of Jamaican music legends”, were D’Yani, Tarrus Riley, and Marcia Griffiths who accepted a Red Stripe Living Legend Award on stage.
During the performance between Beres and Buju, a short clip was captured where they shared an intimate moment on stage which in turn sparked a small debate in the comment section of djstefanomusic’s Instagram account. It started with Buju reaching a hand out to Beres as he sang “right now I’m falling…” which are lines from the 1992 hit song Falling in Love All Over Again by Beres Hammond.
Beres then in turn throws a hand around Buju’s shoulder as they continue to perform. Although some fans praised the performance and someone said, “Give them all their flowers,” another fan spoke up and stated, “Beres Hammond semm really happy and loving as always… but buju seem just a lil uncomfortable 😂😂😂 .”
