Undoubtedly the best player in the just concluded Issa Schoolboy Football 2022 edition, Dujuan “Whisper” Richards. The 17-year-old is considered one of the brightest prospects in Jamaican football by most local analysts.

He has the potential to make waves in Europe’s elite leagues and emulate the success of Aston Villa’s starlet Leon Bailey, another Phoenix Academy product. In the near future, the standout talent is expected to sign for a European outfit once he turns 18, according to reports and his manager, Craig Butler.

Under the esteemed supervision of Craig Butler, whose track record speaks for itself, the Kingston College star rocked up a remarkable 29 goals and 19 assists in the ISSA Schoolboy Football competitions. The young football star recently did an interview alongside his manager Craig Butler on the popular Youtube Channel “The Fix” in which he opened up about his recent success and what lies ahead.

During the interview, one of the hosts asked the footballer about returning to Schoolboy Football for the next season. “Whisper,” told the hosts that the Schoolboy Football competition was equivalent to practice matches for him, just a stepping stone for his development. The 17-year-old went on to say that the High School competition was beneath his current level, and he only wanted to prove to the naysayers he could have starred in the competition.

The interviewers also asked Craig Butler about the current state of Jamaica Schoolboy Football in response to the question, Craig stated, “I don’t think the coaching level is good enough for them to coach my players.” According to Craig, he has only 55% of coaching knowledge currently as he is still learning, which he estimates to be “600% more than what the closest coach in Jamaica knows,” the coach outlined. The sometimes polarizing outspoken coach highlighted the importance of proper coaching in the development of Jamaican football players.

As the interview went on it was clear why Dujuan Richards got the nickname “Whisper” the youngster was very observant throughout the interview, only speaking when he was asked a question, with Craig doing most of the dialogue. Throughout the show, his concise responses were intelligent and entertaining, with multiple outbursts of laughter from the hosts.

The youngster says he will remain fully determined and ultra-focused in his future endeavours, despite getting “fight out” by national team selectors after being snubbed. According to Dujuan, his association with Craig Butler is the sole reason for the fight and struggle he has faced thus far as an upcoming footballer.
