Sha’Carri Richardson Gets Kicked Off a Plane Following Altercation With Flight Attendant – Watch Videos
American track and field sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was kicked off of an American Airlines flight following a dispute with a male flight attendant, whom she said was behaving rudely. The athlete took to social media to express her displeasure, claiming that the flight attendant, whom she identified as “John,” treated her disrespectfully on the flight on Saturday.
Richardson detailed how John was being rude and “unprofessional” in the caption of one of her Instagram Stories. Richardson said John asked her to end the call she was on, which she did, but told him that she, “didn’t like the tone he used.”
He subsequently kept leaning over to look at her phone during the demonstration of the safety protocols and then demanded to see if her cell phone was in aeroplane mode, which she showed him.
In the video, Richardson said she was on vacation as she angled the camera around, showing herself. The flight attendant came into view, and as soon as Richardson turned the camera in his direction, he retreated behind a curtain while telling her to stop recording.
“I’m recording me, but you jumped in my video, so I caught you because you jumped in my video. You’re harassing me at this point, so I think you should stop. I think you should stop,” Richardson told the flight attendant.
A number of other passengers can be overheard becoming irate with Richardson and requesting that she stop arguing with the flight attendant. She asked them if they did not see what John was doing, and she started arguing with a female passenger who appeared to have yelled at her.
Another flight attendant came to ask her to disembark the plane as per the captain’s orders.
The 23-year-old requested to speak to the captain and expressed that she believed John should be removed because he was rude and put his hand in her face.
The sprinter again got into an altercation with another passenger before she eventually started gathering her things to leave. As she was escorted off the plane and cheers broke out behind her, Richardson continued to yell at other travellers and the flight staff.
In another caption, she wrote, “Tell me if I’ll be wrong to pursue legal actions against the airline @americanair not only did the man threaten me but also an innocent bystander who simply just wanted a picture with me. In the beginning of the video you can hear a Caucasian male state that he doesn’t give a f as a man that male flight attendant is intimidating a woman. Also the captain not doing anything to help the situation and this flight attendant has the applause when I exited the plane when I’m pretty serious the disrespect I received would not have happened if I was a one of them.”
