Fox News Settles Defamation Suit For $787.5 Million

An agreement has been reached between Fox News and its parent company Fox Corp. Dominion settled for $787,500,000, about half of its original $1.6 billion demand. Averting a trial over a blockbuster defamation lawsuit filed by the election tech company Dominion Voting Systems over the 2020 election.

Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis announced the settlement on Tuesday before the trial was set to get on the way. In a press conference, Dominion CEO John Poulos said, “Fox has admitted to telling lies about Dominion that caused enormous damage to my company, our employees and the customers that we serve. Nothing can ever make up for that.”

A dissenting opinion from Dominion Voting Systems claimed Fox stars, executives, journalists, and guests defamed them with wild and spurious conspiracies that the company switched votes from then-President Donald Trump to now-President Joe Biden.

After the settlement was announced Fox News issued a statement. “We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false.”
