Defendant in XXXTentacion Murder Case Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison After Taking Plea Deal – Video Report
After pleading guilty in 2018 in the murder case of rapper Jahseh Onfroy, professionally known as XXXTentacion, one of four defendants in the trial, Robert Allen, has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
XXXTentacion was shot and killed during a robbery while he attempted to leave Riva Motorsports on June 18, 2018. Allen and his co-defendants, Dedrick Williams, the reported ringleader; Michael Boatwright, the shooter; and Trayvon Newsome, who took XXXTantacion’s chain and Louis Vuitton bag containing $50,000 cash, were later arrested and charged.
After agreeing to a plea deal, Allen testified against his co-defendants during the trial. Allen said he was against Williams, Boatwright, and Newsome’s plan to rob the rapper and pled guilty to second-degree murder and robbery with a firearm.

Allen was sentenced on Wednesday by Judge Michael Usan, who said he believed the accused was genuinely sorry. After serving five years during the trial, Allen will receive credit for time served and only has two years remaining on his sentence. Following his release from prison, Allen will be on probation for 20 years.
Williams, Boatwright, and Newsome previously received life sentences.
