Tanya Stephens Vows to Never Perform at Reggae Sumfest Again and Explains Why – Watch Video

Veteran dancehall artiste Tanya Stephenson has bid farewell to Reggae Sumfest, citing several issues she faced during the event.

After her performance on Saturday night, Tanya spoke candidly about the consistent disregard she and her team experienced at the hands of the promoters.

One of the challenges was the lack of proper accommodation for her team. With only six rooms granted, it proved insufficient to house her band members, background singers, dancers, and sound engineers. As a result, Tanya had to drive for approximately 1 hour to reach the Air BNB she rented.

Logistics problems did not end there, as there was confusion and disorganization in getting to the event. They proceeded to a rendezvous point for a shuttle only to be told by persons at the location that they had no prior knowledge of the arrangement.

In the video posted to her Instagram profile and uploaded to YouTube by King Mix Up Channel, Tanya Stephens addressed the issue of toxicity backstage at Jamaican stage shows.

Additionally, Stephens expressed disappointment that her set was cut from 45 to 30 minutes, affecting her performance energy. She stated that the atmosphere, the countdown clocks, and the chain-linked fences were not conducive to creativity.

Tanya’s resolute decision not to perform at Reggae Sumfest again is a testament to her strength and determination. She thanked her fans for their unwavering support and her team for making her final Sumfest performance possible despite the circumstances.
