Shawn Storm Uploads Footage of Inside Prison; Says “Dem Rush Case Judge Case and Send Man Come a Prison” – Watch Video
A descriptive reel posted on incarcerated dancehall artiste Shawn Storm’s account has shed light on the harsh reality of prison life and what he calls “rushed judgements” by the Jamaican court system.
The video offered a glimpse into the living conditions within the walls of prisons. It shows one cell, which featured two beddings, one upper and one lower, on either side of the small enclosure, which didn’t appear welcoming by any stretch of the imagination.
However, what makes these “beddings” shocking, is they are made from hard concrete, offering minimal comfort to inmates who spend most of their days and nights in these confined spaces.
A toilet was situated between the beds to add to the starkness, and the cell door was made of unyielding steel, further emphasizing the harshness of the environment.

As the visuals played, the audio featured the outro of the song “Kingston Ice,” a collaboration between Shawn Storm and fellow dancehall artiste Chronic Law, in which Shawn Storm expressed his frustration with the Jamaican justice system. He lamented how cases get rushed, judgments handed down, and men imprisoned without due process.
He voiced his perception that the system does not care about young men like him, prompting him to question why they should care about the system in return.
In the caption accompanying the reel, Shawn Storm expressed his desire to be free from such deplorable conditions. He asserted that God would not allow him to spend another year in such a place.
The hashtags #kingstonice, #FreedomStreet, #FreeVybzKartel, and #FreeShawnStorm conveyed his longing for freedom and that of his co-accused, including Vybz Kartel.
