Top 5 Trending/Hottest Dancehall Songs in Jamaica Right Now – September 2023
Two of dancehall’s increasingly popular deejays, Najeeriii and RajahWild, currently hold the number one spot on YouTube’s trending music for Jamaica with their collaborative single Polkadot. Rounding out the remainder of this top-five list are dancehall artistes Alkaline, Kraff, Chronic Law, and Pablo YG.
Pablo YG kicks off this top-five list of trending songs for Jamaica with his single D.I.E. The YGF Records track sees the artiste expressing himself in a more melancholic tone as he speaks on the inevitability of death and loss.
Despite the single’s grim music video, which features Pablo reminiscing with a newly resurrected friend, the artiste finds a balance within the track’s lyrics as he accepts the darkness as a companion to the light. D.I.E. takes the #5 spot on trending, acquiring over 416,000 views and 21,000 likes since its release on August 20.
Chronic Law’s latest single to drop on YouTube, Life Cycle, takes the #4 spot on the list, having garnered over 282,000 views and 12,000 likes following its premiere on the platform on August 25. Life Cycle was produced by Wikid Media Music and Now or Never and was created on the Life Cycle Riddim.
Life Cycle‘s solemn undertones pair well with the riddim’s more sombre tempo and the feelings of solitude evoked by the track’s music video and Chronic Law’s lyrics of longing for the life he had before fame.
Taking the #3 spot is Kraff and his latest release, Julius Ceasar (Mad Poet), which was produced by The Budu Dem and Drop Top Records. The track’s music video premiered on August 18 and was filmed by The Knemesis, with a sprawling city serving as its backdrop.
Following its release, Julius Caesar (Mad Poet) has so far acquired over 670,000 views and 24,000 likes. The song is one of two tracks by Kraff featured en the top 10 trending songs in the country, with his previous Rum Behavior currently at #9 on the list.
The man himself, Alkaline, takes the #4 spot with his single Boss. Originally released in March, Boss is once again receiving traction online following the release of the song’s official music video on August 28.
Produced by Autobamb Records and SartOut Records, the single has amassed over 487,000 views and 36,000 likes since its release.
Dancehall young guns Najeeriii and RajahWild come out ahead of their more seasoned counterparts, with their first collaborative single, Polkadot, securing the #1 spot on trending. The YC Studios and Unapologetic Muziq-produced track was released earlier this summer, with its official music video debuting on August 25.
