Jahshii and Demarco Drop “We Did It” Music Video

Dancehall artistes Jahshii and Demarco have debuted their first collaboration, We Did It, with the pair releasing an accompanying music video as well on Friday.

The two deejays shot the music video at the end of July while in Canada ahead of their performances at Designers & Bottles in Toronto. Fans were later teased with a clip of the artistes working on the single in the studio.

Distributed via Symphonic, the track sees Demarco and Jahshii once again partnering with producer Ajal, who previously produced Demarco’s single Charge Fi Yuh and Jahshii’s Protection featuring Frassman Brilliant. We Did It serves as Jahshii and Demarco’s testimony of how far they have come despite the naysayers and nonbelievers.

Demarco takes the lead on the track, opening with the first verse and the song’s chorus.

“Dem neva believe in a we suh we show dem. Mi life and mi style dem suh golden. No pay dem nuh mind, yeh wi troll dem. Surprise when we rise caw wi chosen. We did it,” Demarco sings.

Jahshii showcases his lyrical prowess in the second verse of the single and seemingly makes reference to his name being in the media amid recent controversies. “Born hustla guh ask Jubilee dat. Cook it ina di teapot. Tek it to di street hot. Nuh look ina di media, mi put it ina di speaka,” Jahshii states during his verse.

The single’s music video, which was directed by The Knemesis, features minimal shots of both artistes accompanied by their entourage on the streets of Toronto and video vixens in a warehouse containing motorcycles and a Rolls-Royce.
