Kanye launched his highly successful Yeezy brand in 2009. After unveiling his first shoes for Adidas in 2015, the sportswear brand parted ways with Kanye in 2022 after a series of anti-Semitic statements.

Following his return to Instagram, the rapper issued an apology to the Jewish community, posting a short statement in Hebrew on Tuesday. After the issues mentioned above, he was less active on social media, but the rapper has been spotted often out in public with his wife, Bianca Censori.

The couple are known for their peculiar fashion style, and during their public outings, Kanye has been seen rocking some intriguing shoes, which he unveiled on Thursday as his Yeezy Pods. The sock-like footwear, which goes all the way up to the calf, is currently available in three sizes in black with a thin sole at the bottom.

The Yeezy Pods are Kanye’s first shoe since his partnership with Adidas ended, and the artiste showcased the foldable footwear on his Instagram page in a short animated video of the product. In addition to the unveiling, the shoes were made available for preorder via his official website, Yeezy.com, and have a price tag of US$200.

Following its prerelease, viewers have been reacting to the Yeezy Pods, with some urging the rapper to finish his upcoming Vultures album with Ty Dolla $ign instead. Others have insinuated that the footware’s release was behind his apology to the Jewish community.
