14YO Jamaican Girl Takes on University After Getting All Ones in CSEC
A 14-year-old Jamaican female student has decided to embrace university life after scoring all grade ones in her CSEC (Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate) examinations. Young Jada Wright, who has a bright future ahead of her, will be starting classes at UTech, (University of Technology) come January 2024.
During the time of the pandemic when students continued their education predominantly through online learning, Wright saw this as an opportunity to use her newfound free time of seemingly less travelling (essentially giving her more hours during the day) to take on master classes in her subjects.
The extraordinary teen also (at only 12 years of age) showcased amazing leadership skills when she organized the Caribbean Online Academy, an online homeschool program.
The endeavour was organized at the South East College, of which Wright’s mother, Judian Wright, is the founder. Judian encouraged her daughter’s brilliance and cleared the way for her to transform her homeschool program into a full-time online program.
Wright, already enrolled at UTech, will begin classes in January, however, due to her age, she will not be experiencing campus life through boarding. She will be studying to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
She will now become one of the youngest to be admitted to UTech.
