Valiant, born Raheem Bowes, quickly rose to popularity after his phrase ‘Kotch E Hat’ went viral online in 2022. What followed was a stream of hits such as Dunce ChequeSpeed Off, and Barbies that firmly positioned the young deejay as a rising star in dancehall.

A little over a year later, the artiste received his first MOBO Award nomination. Valiant received his nomination alongside Trinidadian soca singer Destra, Kittitian deejay Byron Messia, and fellow Jamaicans Kabaka Pyramid, Popcaan, and Shenseea.
