Following Wednesday’s court proceedings, a ruling is expected to be handed down in Vybz Kartel and his co-accused habeas corpus case on Thursday, May 30. The hearing is to decide whether or not the accused men will be released.
Following the quashing of the murder convictions by the UK Privy Council, attorneys representing Kartel, Cambell, and St. John filed a habeas corpus application on behalf of the three men, weeks ago.
As reported by the Jamaica Observer, the ruling is scheduled to be announced at 2:00 pm in the Supreme Court tomorrow.
After this hearing, the case will next appear in the Jamaica Court of Appeal on June 10 to decide whether or not the four men should be released or retried for Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams’ murder.
