Spice Recorded “10 song a day” for Album, Announces Upcoming Song With Chronic Law

During her much-anticipated local interview, Queen of Dancehall, Spice detailed the process and motivation for her upcoming album, Mirror 25. The Interview was released on Monday, July 15, 2024.

While speaking to Naro and Ari on The Fix, Spice stated that her album would include 25 songs to celebrate the 25 years that she has been involved in music. She also spoke about her many collaborations for the project including a song with Chronic Law and Ireland Boss.

When asked about why she chose Chronic Law for a collab, Spice stated that it was so that her album would be diverse, so that she could come with something new and unexpected, and also so that she can include her male besties into her music more.

“It different, them nah expect it…we trying to make it diverse, we trying to also remember that mi nuh only have female fans, mi have whole heap a man fans…mi affi gi di man dem songs they can vibe to as well…”

The collaboration, entitled Gangsta, is expected to drop this upcoming weekend.

When she was asked if 25 songs for an album was too much? Spice reiterated that she wants the album to be impactful in its message hence the 25 songs for each year in the music industry.

She said, “25 was a small number compared to the 150 songs that I recorded. So I had to scale down to 25.”

When the question, “So how long have you been in the process of doing this album if you have 150 songs?” was posed, Spice replied, “Maybe like wah nine months, eight months, something like that…I recorded the songs in less than…because mi record all 10 song a day.”

Mirror 25’s release date was stated to be Friday, August 9, 2024.
