Noah Lyles Further Infuriates Jamaicans, Believes He’s “Fastest Man in the World”

Noah Lyles is on a roll with regard to making Jamaican track and field supporters upset at him. A day after revealing secrets that his Jamaican girlfriend Junelle Bromfield told him about Jamaican athletes, in his latest interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show published on Wednesday, his actions have further infuriated many Jamaicans.

In the interview, the host, Kelly Clarkson called Lyles “The fastest man in the world” several times and Lyles accepted the label, however, to most people/Jamaicans, the fastest man in the world is Usain Bolt, it’s the same answer according to Google as well. Nevertheless, Lyles is the reigning 100m World Champion

At the start of the show, Clarkson said “Fastest man in the world,” to which Noah Lyles responded saying, “Yeah! whats up!”

Lyles is a six-time world champion and America’s 200m record holder, he has a personal best of 19.31 over the distance, and he is the fourth fastest of all-time in 200m. He also the current 100m World Champion as he took the men’s 100m title in 9.83 in 2023.

Notably, Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson has the fastest time this year/season over the 100m distance with a time of 9.77s (+0.9), on the other hand, Lyles’s PB in 100m is 9.83.

Thompson, Lyles and Seville are all in the spotlight for the men’s 100m in Paris, with the Olympics set to start on 26 July 2024.

In the interview, Lyles spoke about his parents being athletes and most of his family members being athletes.”I’m extremely ambitious,” stated the American before reminding everyone that he brought home “3 goal medals” last year at from the championships.

However, he is looking to take home more medals from another major tournament.

Despite the many topics covered in the interview, many Jamaicans are not accepting the American sprinter claiming the fastest man in the world title. In the comments section of the uploaded interview, one person commented, “He’s the fastest right at using his mouth Noah is the definition of Juda threw is girl right under the bus.”

Another disgruntled viewer asked, “How can you say he is the fastest man in the world and Usain Bolt is still living???? What???? Get it together.”

On the other hand, one view told fellow commenters, “Calm down, people! Noah’s the fastest man in the world right now (based on the most recent world championship, which is when it counts). This is a common way for people to introduce sprinter athletes. He’s obviously not the fastest man “ever”… Of course that’s Usain Bolt.”
