12YO Charged for Assaulting Schoolmate in Portland

The Jamaica Constabulary Force reported Wednesday night that the Portland Police have charged the 12-year-old boy who was seen physically assaulting another boy on a school compound in the now-viral video.

As per the report, the incident took place on Tuesday in Portland.

The minor was charged on Wednesday, he was slapped with an occasioning bodily harm charge. The matter will be heard in a Children’s Court on a date that is yet to be determined.

The identity of the students has not been revealed, however, earlier reports detailed that they are 9, 10 and 12 years old.

News of the charge comes as a recording of his mother makes rounds online. In the audio, she condemned the act but outlined that there is more than what meets the eyes.
