Jamaica Creates History in Lacrosse Box Championships
Team Jamaica got their very first win in the Men’s Lacrosse Box Championships a few days ago after beating Chinese Taipei 12-6 in a game in which the island showed dominance and flair.
With this win, Jamaica has now tasted victory at all the Lacrosse World Cups that the island has participated in, including the Senior Men, Senior Women, U20 Men, U20 Women and now the Box Lacrosse.
However, the team lost the first match vs Czechia, losing miserably 23-4 to the European team that is ranked 7th in the world in Men’s Box Lacrosse, notably, Jamaica is not ranked in the top 20 of this version of the game.
Game two for Jamaica of the tournament was against Scotland, and the island suffered a second defeat, losing 14-12 to Scotland which is ranked 16, the number one ranked time in this version of the sport is Canada.
Jamaican is ranked 8th in the Men’s field version of the sport.
