Jah Cure Celebrates 46th Birthday: “Today I had the best Birthday that you could have in jail”

True Reflection singer Jah Cure is in good spirits despite his incarceration, with the artiste expressing on Friday that his birthday has been a good one despite his circumstances.

Born Siccature Alcock, Jah Cure is currently serving a six-year sentence for attempted manslaughter in the Netherlands. While he was found guilty in 2022 of attempted manslaughter, the singer was acquitted of his attempted murder charge, but prosecutors have been seeking to have his acquittal overturned.

Jah Cure celebrates his 46th birthday today and shared on his Instagram page that the day has been a good one despite being restricted in several ways. The Longing For singer further stated that his celebration was shared with supporters who helped him to make the day an enjoyable one.

“Today I had the best Birthday that you could have in jail. Thanks to all the people from different nationalities that rallied around me by helping me to make the cakes and serve the food and drinks,” Jah Cure wrote.

He went on to thank the guards as well as other prison staff and expressed the necessity of finding happiness in the midst of darkness.

“It’s good to find happiness in the darkest times and thanks to all the guards and staff who help me to make it possible. I felt the love and respect from everyone in here. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to every Libra ♎️ that was born on this day and this month.”

Jah Cure has been incarcerated in the Netherlands since his arrest in 2021 after stabbing a Dutch concert promoter over unpaid performance fees. However, the singer argued during his trial that it was self-defence.
