One of Elephant Man’s most popular releases in his long career, Pan De River Pan De Pank, celebrates its 21st anniversary this year.
Elephant Man, born O’Neil Bryan, was propelled to fame during Dancehall’s prominence internationally in the 1990s and early 2000s as he became known and loved for his high energy and explosive performances.
In addition to his energetic persona, Elephant Man was well known for his dance tracks that encouraged party attendees to take to the dance floor. Pan De River Pan De Bank is no different, with the artiste encouraging his listeners to join him in doing several different dance moves.
The deejay released his album Good 2 Go in 2003, and the project featured popular singles such as Signal De Plane and Pan De River Pan De Bank.
Elephant Man also pays tribute and shouts out multiple Jamaican dancers who were famous at the time and fixtures on the Jamaican party scene.
“I’ve seen nuff dance before (John), but I’ve never seen a dance like this (Bogle) I’ve Seen nuff dance Before (Keiva And Stacy), but a da one yah come top the list. Real badman nuh wear people pants. We take dancing to a higher rank.”
“We spend pound, and we spend Frank’. John have a new dance weh lock Jamaica and Bronx. Pon Di River, Pon Di Bank,” Elephant Man deejays on the track.
