Meek Mill is intent on clearing his name, following the latest reports and footage of his and Diddy’s estranged friendship, Meek Mill took to social media on Wednesday to make numerous statements about the media being out to get black artistes and athletes.
In one of his many tweets, Meek wrote, “Just think about it you are waking up to a bunch of non-black owned publication posting major lies about me! Where all the pr people go that was around me! Everybody see what’s going on I’m not gonna be quiet it’s was war on black men!”
“They putting black men in jail off stories … I wish puff well he’s a black man I hope he didn’t do most of that shit they saying he did …. Why yall so scared to talk yall must got shit In closet! My past the streets it’s nothing to hide!”
And, “None of these publications are owned by black men posting things to destroy the names and brands of the culture! Ima stand on this I know it’s somebody behind this! Ima start a war behind it too when I find out!!!!”
New footage from a lavish birthday bash thrown by Sean “Diddy” Combs for the Philadelphia rapper surfaced on Tuesday, showcasing the wild and debauched nature of the event. The party, held in May 2014, was a blowout celebration marking Mill’s 27th birthday. Hosted at the extravagant Parisian Palace, the party was a lavish affair that included exotic dancers, scantily clad women, and even a naked woman serving sushi to guests.
The scene, which featured a range of celebrity attendees including French Montana, Lil Durk, Jay Z, Beyonce, Cardi B, Offset, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian etc, quickly became infamous for its excess and decadence. According to the property manager of the mansion, Jason Haight, the aftermath of the party was nothing short of shocking.
He described the bedrooms the next day as “disgusting,” with broken bottles, used condoms, bloodstains on bedding, and drug paraphernalia scattered around the property. Haight, who had been tasked with overseeing the event, claimed to have collected half an ounce of cocaine from the premises.
While the footage captured a seemingly close relationship between Diddy and Meek Mill, the public dynamic between the two has since soured. Just days before the video surfaced, Mill was seen publicly distancing himself from Diddy, telling a fan on the street “No Diddy gang.” This comment came after Mill had already begun to distance himself from the rap mogul following allegations of sexual misconduct against Diddy.
Speculation regarding the nature of their relationship reached new heights after a lawsuit filed by producer Rodney Jones alleged a sexual relationship between Diddy and a rapper who had dated Nicki Minaj—Mill being the prime suspect.
Some believe that Diddy intentionally leaked the footage as a way to retaliate against Mill for his public dismissal.
DJ Akademiks, a popular Hip-Hop enthusiast, speculated that the release of the footage was Diddy’s attempt to “get back at” Mill, using the shocking visuals to paint a picture of their past friendship. The footage, with its scenes of excess, seems to stand in stark contrast to the way Mill has recently distanced himself from the controversial figure.
