Trey Songz Ordered to Pay a Hefty $11 Million to Police he Allegedly Assaulted

American singer Trey Songz known for hits like ‘Say Aah,’ is facing more legal woes after being ordered to pay $11 million in a civil case. The case stems from a 2021 incident involving Tyrelle Dunn, a Maryland police officer, who alleges that Songz physically assaulted him during a wild altercation at a Las Vegas hotel.

The singer is 39 years old now. The altercation occurred during Songz’s 37th birthday celebration when Dunn’s wife, among a group of women invited to the singer’s room, reportedly found herself trapped and screaming for help.

When Dunn intervened, he was allegedly attacked by Songz and his security team.

The assault left Dunn with serious injuries, including fractured eye sockets and facial scarring, which prevented him from working. Though Songz was cleared of criminal charges, Dunn pursued civil litigation seeking compensation for medical expenses, pain, suffering, and punitive damages.

As reported by TMZ, After Songz failed to respond to the lawsuit, the court awarded Dunn a hefty $11 million judgment.

This legal battle is just the latest in a series of troubles for Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson. Earlier this year, he settled a $25 million lawsuit related to an alleged sexual assault at a 2016 party.
